Big Events in 2019

I am posting a message for friends, family, acquaintances, clients and followers to share some big events that have happened lately. Things have been incredible — the past few months have given us a lot of ups and downs, but we are in a very good place right now.  2019 has been a year to remember and here are some of the major events to happen to our family and crew of rescues.

The biggest news to share is that I am happy to announce we are now parents.  On September 27, Malia gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter, Avea.  I have already nicknamed her, Sassy because she has a mind of her own.  She decided to come 6 weeks early which required a Medical-Evacuation to Oahu.  Momma,  Sassy and I just came home after almost 4 weeks in the NICU.  Both of the ladies in my life are doing great and it’s so nice to all be home – even if sleep is at a premium.

The second bit of news is that we are moving.  As many of you know, we built our dream home but like many other things in life – our needs have changed.  We have become very active in animal rescue and fostering, and are motivated to do a lot more. So after living in our home for 2.5yrs, we have decided to sell. Our goal is to buy a large plot of land and begin putting together our animal sanctuary.  Last year Malia and I started a non-profit, Chip’s Foster and Care and we are really looking to grow our efforts.  If you would like to learn more about we are doing you can visit:

The last item to share is that I have ramped up my Real Estate career.  As many of you know, I have been a licensed Real Estate Agent since 2012, but recently, I have formed a team: The Big Island Team.  It’s a big step and we are really excited to grow our brand.  If you would like to learn more about our new Real Estate team, visit:

Our hodge-podge crew of rescues and castoffs have had a great 2019, but 2020 will be a huge year to do even greater things!  We look forward to our paths crossing and until they do, enjoy your best life and make the most of every moment.

Warmest Aloha,

John, Malia, Avea, Chip, Mia, Bruise and Runt
